On January 9th, 2013, Eleanor Joy Cizek suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI) as a result of a serious ski accident. Initially in a coma, she has made a miraculous recovery through months of grueling physical, occupational and cognitive rehabilitation.
However, because of the severity of her TBI, she has a significant road ahead. Thanks to the generous support of the family and friends surrounding Ellie and her family, Ellie will begin the next phase of her recovery at a comprehensive brain injury facility this fall. Check back soon for pictures from our inaugural Joy Recovery Project fundraiser held on August 10th which met the goal of raising $250,000 to cover the cost of the next phase of Ellie’s care.
Thank you all for joining Ellie’s fight!
